WSOP Circuit 2018 - 2019: International Main Events

It all started in 1970 at a casino in Las Vegas as a tournament of 7 players. Slowly the brand got bigger and bigger and now WSOP (The World Series of Poker) is the leading series of poker tournaments. It includes 74 yearly events that take place all over the world, playing all popular types of poker. Some events last for one day, while others take place over many days and even weeks.

The WSOP Circuit started in 2005 and there are many types of events which are divided into geographical areas. So we have WSOP Las Vegas, WSOP US Circuit, WSOP International Circuit and WSOP Europe, each one with their own events and schedule.

Preliminary events may be in different types of poker, but the main championship events take place in the No Limit Texas Hold’em. It initially took place in the United States of America, and starting with 2015 it became international, with rounds played in Europe, Asia, Africa, Canada, South America and the Caribbean. So it basically took over the entire world. The biggest event is the WSOP Global Casino Championship, which includes the best of the best – the winners from the WSOP Circuit and those from the WSOP International Circuit. The 2017 – 2018 season included 13 different tournaments.

The WSOP is known for its famous bracelets, and the WSOP Circuit offers special rings to those who qualify from the preliminary events. Since 2005, WSOP offered 972 rings and 20 of these awesome poker players won at least five rings. Some of the players who won more than 5 rings and also have WSOP total earnings of more than 1 million dollars include: Valentin Vornicu, Maurice Hawkins, Robert Hankins, Chris Reslock, Kyle Cartwright, Roland Israelashvili, Joshua Turner, Loni Harwood and Mike Leah.

The 2018 – 2019 WSOP International Circuit includes events in Canada, Holland, Czech Republic, Brazil, Australia, Uruguay, Morocco and St. Maarten. There are various ways for players to qualify, either by winning a Circuit Main Event at any American or International stop, by winning a “Casino Championship” or by being one of the top 50 cumulative point earners across the entire season. Based on all of these conditions, a total of 128 players will qualify for the 2018 – 2019 Global Casino Championship that will take place at Harrah’s Cherokee in the Smoky Mountains area of North Carolina. The minimum prize pool will be of $1,000,000.

In case you are curious about the US National Leaderboard of the moment, here are the top 10 players: David Larson, William Watson, Aaron Lasater, Mack Ham, Vincent Moscati, Alan Sternberg, Ian Steinman, Kenneth Baime, Maxwell Young and Nicholas Pupillo.

We wish you all the best of luck and we hope that one day you too will be a part of the WSOP Circuit!
