About Betcoin Poker Closure on Christmas Day is an online casino that offers various games and services that are available in six different cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, Bitcoincash and Ripple). On the website you can play and interact with thousands of players from all over the world, and you can deposit or withdraw really fast.

They have a casino with slot games, blackjack, craps, roulette, dice, baccarat and other games, and also a sports betting platform. They also have virtual games like tennis, football, basketball etc. and of course…a poker platform as well.

Everything looks great, but unfortunately things were not always rainbows and sunshine for Betcoin. Despite offering various bonuses and attractive features, it developed a bad reputation over the years because of some dishonest business practices.

Among the many bad actions they took over the years we can mention the unannounced rake increase, allowing colluding cheaters to play in their “anti-colluding 10 BTC freeroll”, paying for fake positive comments on forums and also not caring about the security of the players.

On 18th of December 2017, they announced that they are acquired by an unnamed company, and that they will close their poker client on Christmas Day. They posted a long and sentimental goodbye message, and some people were sad to see their favorite cryptocurrency poker platform disappear, while others were outraged by the fact that they won’t pay some debts to players.

The bad experience of Betcoin should teach other websites that even when using cryptocurrencies, that doesn’t mean that you don’t have to offer accountability, respect and security to your users.

But luckily the new owners brought back the poker game on Betcoin and so far we haven’t heard any issues with it. It was re-started on the 17th of January, and they’ve announced this through a post on their blog.

First they posted an apology message saying that they feel very bad for not handling the Bat Beat Jackpot matter properly. They promised that things will change from now on and that they will handle everything very professionally.

They wanted to make sure that everyone is treated equally and to repay the Bad Beat Jackpot contributions exactly. They concluded that the best way to do this is to re-open the poker game and to lower the requirements of the bad beat jackpot until it is earned by players.

The new owners wanted to be fully transparent, they changed some of the staff and some of the rules and it seems that they made the right thing. The poker game slowly got back on track and now it attracts plenty of new players and enthusiasts.
